Caramel Frosting |

| Mom's recipe is the best caramel frosting I've ever had. In our family, we often take a cake up north to the cabin --yellow cake with this frosting. The combination has now become known as "Up North Cake". |

| ingredients: |
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. milk
1 3/4 to 2 c. sifted confectioners sugar |

| Melt butter, add brown sugar & cook over low heat 2 min. stirring constantly. Add milk & continue stirring till mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat & cool slightly. Add confectioners sugar until right consistency. Spread over cake. |
